COVID-19 Government announcement: Indoor sporting venues

The most recent directive from the Australian Government is that pubs, clubs, churches, cinemas, indoor sports venues and casinos will be closed from midday Monday 23 March.

There is no definitive advice available regarding what constitutes an indoor sports venue.

The QKA is aware that many Dojos throughout Australia have already suspended their activities for the time being. We are also aware that some organisations have up until this point in time continued to operate with appropriate participant distancing and modified training activities that focus on technique and, in particular, kata.

Many of our members are privately owned businesses, others are community based organisations. At this time, the QKA advises each member organisation to interpret and apply the current directive according to your own particular operational circumstances keeping in mind that the intent of the directive is about protecting our collective well-being.

Yours in Karate
