2. State Training Venues and Times
Brisbane Training Venue
Karate Queensland’s Brisbane State Team Squad training venue is AAMA’s Mt Gravatt Dojo, Carson Lane, 1873 Logan Rd, Upper Mt Gravatt. There will be 2 kata and 2 kumite sessions each Saturday, commencing Saturday 31 July through until Saturday 11 September:
Session 1
Kata – 12:00 to 12:50
Kumite – 13:00 to 13:50
Session 2
Kata – 14:00 to 14:50
Kumite – 15:00 to 15:50
Session 1 will be attended by all children category athletes, i.e., ages through to and including 13.

Session 2 will be attended by all other athlete categories, i.e., cadet, junior, U21, senior and veterans.

Play-offs, if required, will be conducted at a State Squad training session.
North Coast Training Venue
Karate Queensland has arranged a second training venue suitable for North Coast Athletes. The venue is World Shotokan Karate Do Dojo, 7-9 Gibson Rd, Noosaville. Training will be hosted by Bryan Dukas commencing Saturday 31 July through to Saturday 11 September. Session times are Kata – 11:00 to 11:50 and Kumite 12:00 to 12:50. This will be the primary training venue for all squad members resident from Beerwah northwards. Some training sessions for North Coast athletes may be conducted (to be scheduled) at KQ’s Brisbane training venue.

Training Equipment

All kumite athletes wishing to train must wear the full competition equipment required for their age category, as a minimum.
For all categories: mouth guard, red or blue gloves and foot protectors; and red, blue, or white shin pads.
For male children: face mask or head guard, body armour, and groin guard.
For female children: face mask or head guard and body armour.
For male cadet through to veteran: body armour and groin guard
For female cadet through to veteran: body armour and chest protector.
Athletes who arrive at training without the required equipment will not be allowed to participate.
